Three out of 2,551 police personnel of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) tested positive for drugs, the city's top cop announced Saturday.
Senior Superintendent Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar, acting QCPD director, said the three policemen were assigned at Stations 3 (Talipapa), 6 (Batasan Hills) and 9 (Anonas).
Eleazar said the three still unidentified policemen will undergo confirmatory test and they have 15 days to challenge the results.
The QCPD chief also said that the district has arrested 93 and killed six drug personalities in operations since President Rodrigo Duterte assumed on June 30.
He added that more than 2,000 drug users have surrendered.
Eleazar, meanwhile, said that QCPD policemen are positively handling Duterte's tagging of their two former directors in illegal drugs.
Duterte said in a speech last week that former QCPD chiefs Edgardo Tinio and Joel Pagdilao are involved in the illegal drugs.
Both officials have denied the allegations and assured that they will cooperate with the investigations. —Jessica Bartolome/ALG, GMA News
