The Philippine National Police (PNP) Crime Laboratory confirmed on Tuesday that 20 police officers have tested positive for illegal drugs.
Crime Lab head Chief Supt. Emmanuel Aranas said five officers from Luzon, six in Visayas, and nine in Mindanao yielded positive results in their random drug testing as of 10:10 a.m. Tuesday.
"As far as positive results are concerned, by now by hour ang dating ng data. Ngayon 10:10 ng morning, five tested positive in Luzon, six in Visayas, and nine in Mindanao. Ang ina-announce namin ay yung confirmed for drugs. Marami ang na-screen for confirmation," Aranas said.
Aranas added that the initial count was at 19 when he left the office until an officer called him up to raise the number to 20.

Since May 9, Aranas said a total of 22,238 police officers have been tested as of June and he expects the number to rise once data for July come in from its consolidatiom from the different municipalities. — RSJ, GMA News
